JAMMU, Nov 25: After a prolonged delay, Prof Sanjeev Jain today took over as the Vice Chancellor of Central University of Jammu.
He has been appointed as new Vice-Chancellor of CUJ for a term of five year. The President of India, in his capacity as the Visitor of the Central University, appointed Prof Jain as VC of CUJ in July 2021.
Prof Jain, after joining his office, issued a brief statement saying: I will take all necessary steps for the future growth and development of the University in the light of NEP2020″.
Prior to joining CUJ, Prof Jain was heading one of the leading engineering institution as Director, IIIT PDPM-India Institute of Information Technology Design and Manufacturing (IIITDM, Jabalpur (MP). Earlier, he has also served as Vice-Chancellor of Shri Mata Vaishno Devi University.
He replaced Prof Ashok Aima, whose five-year tenure had ended in April 2020. The appointment of a new Vice-Chancellor got delayed allegedly because of the outbreak of COVID pandemic. Prof Aima remained the VC of Central University of Jammu for more than six years and seven months.
