UDHAMPUR, Mar 29: A book titled’ Duggar Ka Lok Sangeet’, authored by eminent writer, historian and Padma Shri Awardee, Prof Shiv Nirmohi was released here today by Dr K C Sharma, President Duggar Heritage Society, Udhampur.
The book having 128 pages is divided into 15 chapters in which the writer has described folk music, folk singing, folk musical instruments, Dogri folk songs, Gojri folk songs, Padri folk music, Bhaderwahi folk singing, Siraji folk singing among other aspects of folk music.
It is the first book of its type on Dogra music in which the writer has highlighted different aspects of Dogra folk music.
The book is priced at only Rs 50 and is a must read for all those interested in Duggar and its culture.
On the occasion of book release, Archaeologist Anil Paba, noted writer and poet, Ashok Sharma and Prof Nirmohi’ s spouse, Anusuya were also present.
