JAMMU, Feb 20: Prof Vivak M Arya, working in SKUAST-Jammu successfully got two patents registered on ‘Agriculture & Aquaculture Managing AI-machine’ and ‘Waste Sorting Robot’.
Prof Arya, co-workers and students working under the leadership of Prof B N Tripathi, Vice Chancellor, SKUAST-Jammu, have been granted these two patents by the Office of the Controller General of Patents, Designs & Trade Marks (CGPDTM).
The main objectives of the patents are to improve Agriculture and Aquaculture using artificial intelligence and a robot designed to separate different types of waste.
Presently working in the Division of Soil Science, Faculty of Agriculture, Prof Arya is handling many externally funded prestigious projects and has written research papers in peer reviewed journals like Elsevier, Springer, Taylor & Francis. His scientific team comprising of research scholars are presently focusing on themes like soil carbon, nitrogen and micro biome study of intermediate and temperate regions of Jammu, climate change and its effect on natural resource management and macro-nutrient dynamics in rice-wheat, maize-wheat land use system.
