JAMMU, Apr 16: NSS unit of Govt College of Education, Jammu in collaboration with Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) organized an event on sustainable waste management practices under Swachh Bharat Mission.
The programme was successfully organized by Dr Shubhra Jamwal, NSS Programme Officer of GCOE along with the JMC team and NSS volunteers of GCOE.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included Tina Mahajan Secretary, Swachh Bharat Mission, JMC, Hardeep Singh, Sanitation Officer, JMC, H L Khajuria, Sanitary Inspector, JMC , Rajat Gupta, IEC Project Manager, Dheeraj Manhas, IEC Project Manager and Ankush Sharma, Zonal Area Manager, IEC, JMC.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr Kulwinder Kour, Principal GCOE laid stress on conducting such awareness events on large scale.
The programme included a drawing competition on the theme “Swachh Bharat” and a singing competition on the theme “Patriotism”. The winners of the drawing competition include Diksha Sharma (1st prize), Arushi Katoch (2nd prize) and Neeru (3rd prize).
The winners of the singing competition include Ravinder Kumar (1st prize), Preeti Sharma (2nd prize) and Richa Anand (3rd prize).The winners were awarded with cash prizes, trophies and certificates. The judges of the event were Prof C L Shivgotra, Prof Shapia Shameem and Prof Seema Kumari.
