JAMMU, Apr 1: A programme of 30 days to train women in tailoring was inaugurated here today at District Jail, Amphalla.
The training will be conducted by SBI Rural Self Employment Training Institute (SBI-RSETI) Jammu to impart training in cutting and tailoring to the women jail inmates at District Jail Amphalla.
After completion of the training, a certificate of participation will also be presented to every candidate. On this occasion, a small function was organized in which chief guest was Dharmender Singh Katoch, Superintendent of District Jail Amphalla and he inaugurated the training programme along with Shagun Manchanda from Social Welfare Department and Shallu Sharma and Sheetal from SBI RSETI Jammu.
Katoch motivated 20 women jail inmates at the district jail to take full benefits of the training. He also encouraged the women to acquire the skill and use it for their livelihood.
Shagun also motivated the women to learn skills with keen interest and come out from the jail with a skill which can help them to stand on their own.
