Programme on ‘ICT Tools in Education’ concludes

JAMMU, Feb 7: The weeklong Faculty Development Programme on ‘ICT Tools in Education’ organized by the ‘School of Education’ of Central University of Jammu (CUJ) under the aegis of prestigious PMMMNMTT scheme, Union Ministry of Education concluded with the valedictory.
Chief guest on the occasion was Padamshree Prof. Prof. R.K Sinha, Vice-chancellor, SMVDU, Katra. During his address Prof Sinha highlighted how ICT helped us especially during the pandemic in organizing teaching-learning activities, assessment and evaluation work, research and innovations, not only in the field of education but also in fulfilling day-to-day needs.
He opined that even the ICT will be equally useful during the post-pandemic period also.
Prof. Ashok Aima, Vice Chancellor, CUJ in his presidential address said the teachers should play the role of interface between knowledge seekers and knowledge creators.
He further said that role of teachers is to prepare the students to become the productive contributors to the society where ICT can play a significant role.
During the FDP experts from various national level institutions were resource persons with key resource persons being Prof. A.P Behera, Jt. Director, CIET-NCERT, New Delhi; Prof. Prajapat from Devi Ahilya University, Indore; Prof. Pradeep Mishra from CCS University, Meerut; Prof. Yashwant Singh, Dr. J.N Baliya, Dr. Neerender, Dr. Aravind Selwaal from CUJ; Prof. Madhusudan from Central University of Hyderabad; Prof. Thiyagu and Prof. Josith Nambiyar from Central University of Kerala; Prof. Amit Kauts and Prof. Deepa Kauts from GNDU, Amritsar, Dr. Parveen, Dr. Deepak Bishla from Amedkar University, New Delhi and Dr. Yash Paul from CIET-NCERT, New Delhi.
About 60 participants from various higher educational institutions of across the country participated in FDP. Dr. Ritu Bakshi, Coordinator of the FDP read the detailed report.
Dr. Asit Mantry Coordinator of FDP proposed the formal vote of thanks.
