JAMMU, Aug 13: The Finance Department today asked the Administrative Secretaries to direct their subordinates to project correct amount of UT matching share as first charge in Capex budget.
An order to this effect was issued today by Financial Commissioner (Finance Department) Dr Arun Kumar Mehta, who is also the Chief Secretary of the Union Territory.
Asserting that some departments are not projecting the UT matching share and demands are made for the same after finalization of Capex budget, Dr Mehta observed that this causes hindrance in completion of projects and unnecessary delay in receiving funds under the Centrally Sponsored Schemes from the Government of India.
“This hampers the project with least outcome,” the order said.
Dr Mehta has cautioned that non-compliance of the order will be viewed seriously and disciplinary action initiated against the defaulting officers/officials.
