Prolonged power cuts make life miserable: NC

BANIHAL, Jan 7: NC District Ramban president, Sajjad Shaheen conducted an extensive tour of several villages in Banihal constituency and took stock of problems being faced by the people there.
He visited Chalalwas, Chaknarwah, Chanjloo, Darpora, Halimadan, Duligam, Hinjhal, Asshar, Lamber, Kuthtal and other villages where locals raised the issue of erratic power supply, scarcity of drinking water, shortage of staff in health care centres and dilapidated condition of Lambar-Nowgam link road.
Shaheen expressed concern over unscheduled power cuts during chilling cold winter in entire Ramban.
He said that the metered as well as non-metered consumers particularly in Banihal, Gool, Ramban, Batote and far off areas are facing long unscheduled power cuts.
The NC leader said that residents of villages Mahu, Mangit, Khari, Nadika, Trigam, Kumbla, Buzla, Sarachi, Hinjhal, Fagow, Tethar, Chareel, Nowgam, Chachal, Neel, Chaknarwah, Chamalwas, Lamber, Ashar and others are facing the brunt of unscheduled power cuts which has made their life miserable.
The NC leader urged upon the administration to review stock and supply position of essential commodities in all snow bound areas of district Ramban and Gool and other higher reaches of other districts as most of these areas remain cut off for months together in winters.
