JAMMU, July 16: Some prominent social activists from Jammu province today joined Aam Aadmi Party during a joining programme held in Delhi.
Imran Hussain, Cabinet Minister of Delhi Government and Incharge Kashmir province, alongwith Pardeep Mittal, Co-incharge Jammu province, chaired this joining programme in which a number of new faces joined AAP, who included prominent social activists Safeer Ahmed Choudhary and Dr Tariq Ali Sheikh.
Safeer Ahmed Choudhary is a resident of Poonch district and Chairman of Qammar Charitable Trust and President of Muskan Foundation Jammu and Kashmir.
Similarly, Dr Tariq Ali Sheikh is Director of Triveni Hospital and a resident of Bhaderwah sub division in Doda district.
Both these prominent social activists, along with a number of other faces, joined AAP terming its pro-people policies and public friendly Government as a need of hour in Jammu and Kashmir.
In an official statement, AAP mentioned large scale joining in party cadre terming it as a reference of growing popularity of party in public corridors. It further stated that efforts are being expedited to boost this joining programme in days to come.
