This has reference to the news item “UP Minister invites Sant Samaj,Hindus from J&K to Kumbh Mela” published in Daily Excelsior sometime back. This exhibits the true spirit of the UttarPradesh Govt in promoting religious tourism in the State and to the utmost surprise the UP.Chief Minister Yogi Aditya Nath has released a huge amount of Rs 4200 Crores for the smooth celebration of the Kumbh Mela at Triveni Sangam of Paryag Raj .
Very painfully it is to point out that the most sacred religious tourist spots of Purmandal and Utterbahni known as Chhota Kashi in Jammu Division carrying same religious importance as the Paryag Raj in UP stand totally ignored by the authorities for the reasons best known to them. What to talk of hefty releases not even a single penny stands allocated for the purpose in our State.
Pertinently the holy “Kumb Snan” alike U.P is starting at these shrines from 14th of Jan. and culminating on 4th of March 2019 thereby an unprecedented foot fall during the period is expected. Accordingly I would like to request the authorities to grid their lion on war footing basis to highlight the importance of these shrines in the media on the lines of UP Govt. and ensure fool proof security arrangements as well as, uninterrupted water and electricity supply including road communication network during the Kumbh Sanan.
While concluding I would like to request the District Administration to ensure imposition of complete ban on the cremation of dead bodies in Devika River Bed below the holy Shiva Temple Complex at Purmandal as the same is causing a grave public nuisance in the smooth celebration of the Mahaparv Sanan.
