JAMMU, Dec 19: Non-Gazetted (retired) Police Persons Welfare Forum in a meeting chaired by Ajit Singh discussed the demands of promotions of serving cops in Armed Police.
Speakers in the meeting said, there are about 120 vacancies of ASIs, 250 vacancies of SIs and many vacancies of Head Constables and other ranks in the Armed Police but no promotion orders have been issues by the authorities to promote these cops so far.
They said that authorities are avoiding promotions using the pretext that Armed Police cops have not yet completed their five years in their present rank.
The Association has urged upon the Director General of Police and Additional Director General of Police to look into the matter of promotion of Armed Police personnel of J&K.
