JAMMU, May 3: State High Court today kept in abeyance the promotion of eight officers as Superintending Engineer Mechanical.
The order was passed in a petition filed by one Gagan Joyti, Executive Engineer Mechanical Irrigation Division Jammu, who challenged promotion on the ground that promotees were junior to him.
Advocate C S Azad appearing for the petitioner submitted that petitioner had earlier filed a petition in the year 2012 which was disposed of Vide order dated October 16, 2012 with a direction to respondents to consider the case for placement of Incharge Superintending Engineer strictly in accordance with the rules.
He further submitted that respondents without complying with the directions have issued impugned order dated April 25, 2013 whereby sanction was accorded for placement of eight private respondents as Incharge Superintending Engineer despite being junior to the petitioner.
While keeping order in abeyance, Justice Tashi Rabstan invited objections from the other side till next date of hearing.
