POONCH, July 10: With the prompt action of policemen, the life of a girl who jumped into Pulsat river near Poonch was saved today.
Official sources said that an information was received by police that a girl (name withheld) jumped into Pulsat river from the concrete edges of the river. Acting promptly on the information, Police party from Police Station Poonch and SOG Poonch immediately rushed to the spot and without judging the flow of water jumped into the river and after hectic efforts putting life in danger reached upto that girl and rescued her from the river in subconscious condition and shifted to District Hospital Poonch for further treatment.
The prompt action by the police was widely lauded by public and the civil society in Poonch city. The operation was superwised by SSP Poonch Vinay Kumar Sharma.
