KATHUA, Oct 9: Deputy Commissioner, Kathua, Rohit Khajuria while clarifying a news report regarding that Shaheedi Chowk Kathua is without lights said that the new item was based on misinformation.
In a statement issued her, today he said after inquiring the matter it was revealed that some ten days back all the connections given from the Conductor were removed upon the cabling of the area by a private company employed by the PDD.
He said after the cabling of area no body can connect any “KUNDI”. In such situation Electric Department has to provide a connection from the cable after exploring the viability of the same in the area. Matter is already before the concerned, he added.
DC said now the matter has been resolved and lights are working. Last month only more than 80 lights were installed in the area from the Dream Land Park to Sunil Choudhary Statue. Regarding the High Mast light, it is clarified that whenever a snag develops in it at the same time private company has to be called because only they have the equipment and spares to repair it. Besides the two non functional lights this Chowk has many more lights in working condition.
