SRINAGAR, Jan 15: In its ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace, the Kulgam police today seized property belonging to a notorious drug peddler under the NDPS Act.
The individual identified as Mashooq Ahmad Sheikh, son of Ghulam Qadir Sheikh and resident of Khudwani Qaimoh, Kulgam, had his double-storeyed residential house, measuring 625 sqft was attached by the police.

This action was taken under section 68-F (2) of the NDPS Act 1985, as part of the police’s relentless pursuit against illicit drug activities.
The property, identified as illegally acquired during the course of an investigation by Kulgam police, is believed to have been obtained through illicit trafficking of narcotic drugs and psychotropic substances by the owner.
“The said drug peddler is involved in case FIR number 66/2023 of Police Station Qaimoh,” stated the police, emphasizing the connection of the individual to an ongoing case.
