JAMMU, Aug 25: Property worth several thousands damaged in a fire, which broke out in the triple storey building of PHE Department at BC Road, here this morning.
As per police sources, a fire broke out in a room of PHE Department building at BC Road this morning probably due to short circuit involving around property worth Rs 80 lakh.
On getting information, police team rushed to the spot and informed the Department of Fire and Emergency Services.
The fire fighters along with fire tenders reached the spot and after hectic efforts, doused the flames, but till then property worth several thousands was destroyed and Rs 79,60,000 was saved.
Two fire tenders from City Fire and Gandhi Nagar Fire Stations were put in to douse the flames. The whole operation was supervised by Divisional Fire Officer Sub Command Gandhi Nagar Pritam Lal under the direct supervision of Deputy Director Fire and Emergency Services Command Jammu RC Raina.
In the ablaze, the property, which got partially damaged were computers, tables, chairs, windows, exhaust fan and wiring.
No injury or casualty has been reported in the incident, while the exact loss could not be ascertained yet.
Bus Stand police has taken cognizance in this regards.
