Huge Eid Milad procession by J&K Waqf Board

SRINAGAR, Oct 9: J&K Waqf Board today organised the first ever Milad procession from Nigeen Club to Dargah Hazratbal in which a large participation of people from all walks of life was witnessed.
Chairperson J&K Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi, members of the Board Dr G N Haleem and Syed Mohammad Hussain were accompanying the procession. Prominent Imams and Khateebs of entire Kashmir valley also took part in this first ever large religious procession.
Raising slogans, reciting ‘Naats’, the procession was filled with religious fervour and sentiment. The procession concluded at Hazratbal Shrine where Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, PK Pole and Deputy Commissioner Srinagar, Aijaz Ahmed Asad also took part in the concluding function held there.
Speaking on the occasion the Divisional Commissioner said that Waqf Board was doing great job to re-enforce the spiritual tradition of Kashmir in J&K and reviving the Sufi tradition of this land.
In her address chairperson of the Waqf Board, Dr Darakhshan Andrabi said that the great Prophet’s message of love, brotherhood and compassion is the need of the world. “Prophet’s message of peace for whole humanity needs to be propagated and it is our responsibility to spread love and peace around,” Dr Darakhshan said.
Several other prominent persons also addressed the religious gathering and spread a message of peace, love and brotherhood. After special prayers at Hazaratbal Shrine, the huge gathering dispersed.
