JAMMU, Nov 4: Principal Sessions Judge Bhaderwah, Sanjeev Gupta acquitted Purna Devi, who committed murder of one Omkar Singh over property dispute as prosecution miserably failed to prove its case.
After hearing Advocates Abdul Wahid and Altaf Wahid appearing for the accused, Principal Sessions Judge observed, “prosecution has not been able to either prove the motive on the part of accused to do away with the life of the deceased or the recovery of alleged weapon of offence at the pointing out of accused after she made a disclosure statement about the same before the police”.
“In such circumstances, in the light of evidence in record, it can be safely said that prosecution has miserably failed to prove its case against the accused beyond reasonable doubt”, the court said and acquitted the accused.
