Prosecution failure leads to acquittal in murder case

JAMMU, Oct 8: Principal Sessions Judge Reasi, Y P Kotwal has acquitted one Pawan Kumar, son of Ram Saran of Seela Tehsil Reasi, who was facing trial in murder case, as prosecution failed to connect the accused with the crime.
According to the police case, the accused was arrested for murdering one Toshi Devi, wife of Bansi Lal on July 7/8, 2009 by strangling her and then throwing her body in a nallah.
After hearing Advocate Pawan Dev Singh appearing for the accused, Court observed, “prosecution has utterly failed to prove its case beyond the reasonable doubt and connect the accused with commission of offence”. Accordingly, the court acquitted the accused of the charges leveled against him.
