RAJOURI, Jan 23: The family members, relatives of the deceased and locals of the area held protest after the dead body of a Jal Shakti/PHE department employee was recovered in Darhal area today.
Official sources said that body of the field employee of PHE department was recovered under suspicious circumstances. The employee- Nisar Ahmed had gone to check the water supply on Monday afternoon, but he did not return home after that.
The family started searching for him but after long efforts the family could not find any clue about him. The family lodged a missing report with Darhal police. The police started a search. On Tuesday, through social media and some other people, they got information that the body of the employee was lying at an isolated place under mysterious circumstances.
The police rushed to the spot and family members also arrived there after some time. Later, the family members and locals held protest and demanded fair investigation in the case.
SDPO Thannamandi Khaliq Choudhary said that the body has been handed over to the family after conducting post-mortem at the sub-district hospital of Darhal and completing other legal formalities. The police have registered a case of death under suspicious circumstances and started further investigation.
