Protest against blasphemy remarks in Rajouri, Thannamandi

RAJOURI, Oct 5: A strong protest was held in Rajouri and Thannamandi towns today as members of the Muslim community expressed their outrage over recent blasphemous remarks made by controversial figure Narsinghanand.
Protestors gathered in large number, demanding immediate and strict action against him for his inflammatory statement, which they believe have deeply hurt religious sentiments of Muslim community.
The protests, which were peaceful but resolute, spread across various parts of the district, including Thannamandi, where people also took to the streets to condemn the incident. Demonstrators raised slogans against Narsinghanand, calling on authorities to take swift and decisive action to ensure justice and prevent such incidents in the future.
Leaders from different religious and social groups joined the protests, emphasizing the need for harmony and respect for all faiths. They urged the Government to uphold the rule of law and ensure that individuals who engage in blasphemy are held accountable.
“We cannot remain silent while our religious beliefs are insulted. The law must act swiftly and send a clear message that such hate speech will not be tolerated,” said one of the protestors during the protest.
Similar protests have been reported in other parts of Rajouri, and Bathindi in Jammu as well condemning the blasphemy. Authorities ensured that security measures are in place to maintain peace during the demonstrations.
