Protest against Construction agency for not paying wages

RAJOURI, June 24: A protest demonstration was held today against Dharam Raj Constructions Pvt Ltd company which is executing the project of road from Rajouri to Surankote via Thanamandi.
The protesters assembled at Thanamandi and launched protest demonstration today. They told that they were employed in the company and for the initial some time the salary was given to them timely and after that from last three month no salary was given to them and they have nothing to feed their families.
They further said that whenever they demand salary from company officials they always ask employees to leave the job and threaten them for termination from the job. Protestors told that it became routine for Dharam Raj Construction Company that employees have to protest for salary. They added that they have nothing except this job and by threatening them for termination the company is forcing their family for starvation.
As Eid is coming nearer, they are without salary from last three months and they are always humiliated fir their hard earned wages. They alleged that Labour Department never takes note of this issue despite knowing about the matter. The company is harassing them by using different tactics as there is open violations of Labour laws and there in no check on the company officials. The District Administration is also least bothered over the plight of workers.
They appealed the LG Manoj Sinha to intervene onto the matter.
