Protest against killing of 2 school children

SAMBA, Sept 5: The people from Ranjri and adjoining areas held protest demonstration against the District Education authorities and the private schools playing with the lives of children.
They were protesting against the negligence of school managements in which two school children were crushed to death at Ramgarh and Ranjri yesterday. These two children of Class 4th and 5th were crushed under the rear wheels of the school vehicles.
The locals led by local NPP leader Rajesh Padgotra held strong protest and raised slogans against DC Samba, CEO Samba and managements of the schools. They alleged that education authorities and district administration has not kept any check on the activities of the private schools. It has endangered the lives of the children. They demanded that strict check be maintained on the transport facilities being provided by schools and managements be forced to keep helpers with the vehicles to ensure safety of the children going and coming in school buses/ mini-buses or other vehicles.
They threatened to throng DC office and also block National Highway if the District Administration failed to act with in a week. He said many school vans / vehicles are fitted with LPG cylinders, endangering children life. Moreover, many vehicles are operating out of routes, but there is no check at all.
