Protest against PDD at Samba

SAMBA, Feb 5: The people staged strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department (PDD) over the issue of the technical fault in the electric transformer and blocked Samba Border road near Rakh Amb Talli for half an hour today.
According to the reports, this morning at around 11 am, the residents of the Rakh Amb Tali area of Samba assembled on main road and staged strong protest demonstration against the PDD. They raised slogans against the officers of the Department and then blocked the Samba border road near about for half an hour and disrupting the movement of vehicular traffic. They alleged that the PDD installed the electric transformer in their village, due to the fault in the transformer the residents do not get proper voltage and the studies of their children were also affected due to low voltage.
They said that several times they informed to the officers of the Department but they dole fake promise with them and did not replace the transformer.
After receipt of the information, incharge Police Post and Tehsildar Samba, Aman Anand reached on the spot and tried to pacify the protester but they demanded immediately replacement of the transformer and installation of new so that the villagers get proper electricity. After the assurance of the Tehsildar, Samba protester lifted the road blockade.
