RAJOURI, Dec 19: The local residents held protest against the unscheduled power cuts in Thana Mandi Sub-Division under the leadership of Advocate Zahoor Bhatti in Tehsil Complex Thanna Mandi today.
The protesters were shouting slogans against the Power Development Department and the administration. The people criticized the concerned department and said that the process of unscheduled power cut has been going on in various areas of Thana Mandi sub-division since last one month.
Bhatti said that the people are being deliberately disturbed by the PDD during the severe winter season, but monthly electricity bills are being sent continuously. He alleged that neither the employees are showing any interest in improving electricity system, nor attention is being paid to provide electricity supply properly. It should be noted that people are expressing their displeasure towards the concerned department due to the poor performance of the PDD.
He requested the Lt Governor Manoj Sinha to intervene into the matter and ensure adequate power supply to the people in Thannamandi Sub Division.
