RAJOURI, Jan 7: Residents from Samote and Daraj in Budhal held protest demonstration against the PDD and Health authorities and blocked Rajouri- Budhal road for over three hours.
Reports said residents from Daraj area came out on Budhal road and raised barricades. They blocked the movement of vehicular traffic and sand on dharna. The villagers were raising slogans against the PDD authorities. Local Panchayat members were also accompanying. They alleged that transformer at village went out of order about a week back and the PDD officials of the area have failed to replace it and restore power supply in the area.
The villagers from nearby another village Samote also assembled at the same point and started protest against Health authorities. They alleged that there was no doctor at local Primary Health Centre and the public was suffering. They alleged that matter was also brought to the notice of local MLA and MOS Health Shabir Khan but no doctor was provided at this Health Centre. After three hours, the agitating public lifted dharna with the intervention of SHO Budhal, Madan Lal.
