JAMMU, Aug 17: Many Panches and Sarpanches of Akhnoor Sub Division held a strong protest against Power Development Department here today.
Protest was staged outside the office of Sub Divisional Magistrate (SDM) Akhnoor. Former Sarpanch Devinder Singh, Sarpanch Des Raj and Sarpanch Shamsher Singh were leading the protest. They were supported by many Panches and local villagers. They were shouting slogans against PDD authorities.
They alleged poor supply of electricity in the area with low voltage and maintained that staff misbehaves with the Sarpanches if they are asked to maintain the supply and remove the faults. They alleged that senior officers have no control on the field staff and they all lack coordination.
SDM Akhnoor, Gopal Singh said that the concerned officers of PDD have been called to his office. The issue will be sorted out. He assured action in this regard.
