RAJOURI, Nov 6: The people held protest demonstration against PHE/ Jal Shakti authorities in Nowshera town today.
They were protesting against non-supply of water in Ward No. 5 of Nowshera town for the last couple of days. The locals of the area led by Municipal Committee Councilor, Rita Devi assembled on Nowshera- Jhangar road near Nonial at around 11 am and started shouting slogans against Jal Shakti authorities. They were demanding regular supply of drinking water.
The movement of traffic was disrupted on the road for some time. Later, Tehsildar Nowshera reached the spot and he pacified the protesting people. He assured that from tomorrow, normal water supply will be resumed. On his assurance, the people then lifted protest dharna.
