POONCH, Dec 13: Residents of the town including a large number of traders and students held strong protest demonstration against the Power Development Department for imposing over 15-16 hour power curtailment in the town and adjoining areas.
A large number of local assembled at the main chowk here at around 3 pm and started protest demonstration. They raised slogans against the State Chief Minister and the PDD authorities. They alleged that with the imposition of long power curtailment, the business and banks’ operation has been badly hit. There is no power during most of the day and even in the evening and the people are facing lot of problems.
This is happening for the last over one week and the concerned PDD staff claims that there was less power supply from Jammu, which is just false plea. They warned the concerned authorities to improve the power supply position otherwise, the public will be forced to go for intensified agitation.
