Protest against power, water crisis

MENDHAR, Dec 23: National Conference workers along with a large number of locals of the area today held protest demonstration against the PDD and PHE authorities for the severe electricity and drinking water crisis in the area.
The NC workers earlier assembled at local NC office and held protest demonstration for some time. Later, they were joined by many people of the town. They took out a protest march in the main market, raising slogans against Minister Incharge PDD, Dr Nirmal Singh (DyCM)   and PHE Minister, Sukhnandan Choudhary.
They alleged that due to long unscheduled power cuts,  people of the area are facing lot of hardships. Many transformers are lying damaged but they could not be repaired or restored for more than one month. Local field staff hardly bothers about the plight of the people.
They further alleged that water supply to many areas has been affected. Many pipes have developed leakage but they are not repaired or replaced. There is massive wastage of water and the PHE  officials have failed to ensure adequate supply of drinking water. After protest march they reached in the office of Tehsildar and SDM and  submitted a memorandum there for the Government.
