POONCH, Apr 16: People from three villages and adjoining hamlets led by Panchayat members held protest demonstration at Dharra Dullian Govt Middle School and caused damage to the furniture to lodge their protest against the rape committed on a local 12-year-old girl of the school by headmaster.
The people from Dharra Dullian, Jallas and Kuhandia villages came out on the road and held protest demonstration. They were demanding arrest of the accused teacher and his termination from the Government service. Some agitating people also caused some damage to the Government property at the school. They alleged that their daughters were not safe in presence of this teacher and he should be dismissed from service and placed behind the bars immediately. The accused teacher taking advantage of innocence of the poor girl, committed sexual assaults on her in the school premises and made her pregnant.
Later, SHO Poonch, DySP and Tehsildar besides CEO Poonch moved to the school and assured the agitating people to take strict action against the accused teacher in this regard. Then people lifted dharna. CEO also disclosed that Incharge Headmaster Vilayat Hussain (48), son of Maqbool Hussain of Darra Dullian Govt School has been placed under suspension after police registered FIR No. 44/2014 under Section 376 against him.
Meanwhile, SP Poonch claimed that police parties were conducting raids at various places to trace and nab the accused teacher.
