Excelsior Correspondent MENDHAR, Dec 10: Residents from Dachhal Bera and adjoining localities of the town held protest demonstration against the CAPD authorities for the shortage of ration in the area. The people including women assembled at the Government Ration depot in the town and started protest demonstration. The depot was closed and the salesman Usman was also not available. The people alleged that this Government depot mostly remains closed and TSO Abdul Qayoom was hardly available in the area. These people alleged that there was no proper monitoring by the senior officials of CAPD and the general public was suffering for want of ration. The people from adjoining villages go high and dry and even there was no check on the black marketing. The agitating people then moved to the office of SDM and the Tehsildar, Mendhar at around 11.40 am, but they too, were not available. Then they held protest there again for some time and then dispersed. Abdul Rashid Manhas from Dachhal Bera was leading the protest.
