RAJOURI, Nov 9: A strong protest was held in Behrote area of Thannamandi  against Dharam Raj Construction Company for not starting blacktopping  work on  the road.
The locals of the area revealed that about one kilometer road has not been blacktopped at Behrote due to unknown reasons. They said due to massive dust their shops as well as houses are in ugly condition and they are exposed to certain health problems due to spreading dust with passage of vehicles.
The villagers further said that they have to keep their establishments closed  due to this problem. They added that most of this road  has been black-topped and only one km area at their village has been left out for the last one year.
They said there are two schools in the area and students are worst sufferers. Locals blocked the road and held strong protest. Later, SDPO Thannamandi Khaliq Choudhary reached the spot and pacified the protesting locals with assurance that work on the road will be started within two days. Locals also demanded that the quality of work must be checked properly at all location.
