RAJOURI, Dec 18: The people held protest after some miscreants caused damage to an idol of a small temple at Dhani Dhar in Rajouri this morning.
The locals came to known about the incident in the morning and started gathering. Some members from the majority community also joined them in protest. The people then came out on University Road and started protest demonstration at around 9 am. The protest continued up to 10.30 am. They were demanding arrest of the accused responsible for damage idol of `Shani Dev’ in the Bholi Mata temple complex.
Later, DC and SP Rajouri also reached there and they assured the people to takeb action against the miscreants who tried to create communal tension. The people also demanded protection of the temples in the area and construction of compound wall.
