Protest against sub-standard road work

RAJOURI, Dec 30: Residents of Kangri area held strong protest against PMGSY authorities and contractor for the alleged sub-standard work on the road, sanctioned with the cost of Rs 4.47 crore.
The villagers came out on the road and held protest demanding inquiry into the matter. The villagers alleged that protection walls of the road have been made using highly with sub-standard material and have started damaging shortly. The drain work is also very poor and drains have irregular width at different places.
The protest was led by village Sarpanch Kashmir Singh and many others joined it.
Protesters told that huge irregularities being committed by the contractor in the construction work of the road connecting Bajora via Punne Khater Powal. The the blacktopping has also started uprooting after one month of completing this road.
Protesters told that if any heavy vehicle, dumper, truck etc. moves on that road, it will be damaged immediately. The local villagers said they requested contractor several times for using high quality construction material as per the standards set by the government but he ignored.
AEE of PMGSY reached the spot and assured that broken road will be repaired and action will be taken against contractor
