RAJOURI, June 8: The people and family members of deceased girl today held strong protest at Darhal town against police and demanded constitution of Special Investigation Team (SIT) in connection with the mysterious death of young woman, Sahiba Kouser at her inlaws’ house in Darhal area recently.
A large number of people led by Congress leader, Karamat Ullah Malik, (Inchartge Pahari Cell of the Party) assembled in Darhal town today and held strong protest near tehsil complex, and later they moved to the Police Station. They were shouting slogans in support of their demand to constitute SIT to ensure indepth probe into the mysterious death of the young house wife.
They pointed out that the police had detained husband and father-in-law of the deceased hailing from Thanda village in Darhal but it has failed to properly investigate the case. They said justice should be metted out to the deceased.
They alleged that girl was being harassed and victimized by the husband and other members in the family. She was pregnant and was tortured to death. It is double murder case, they alleged. They demanded that SSP Rajouri must constitute Special Investigation Team (SIT), for holding indepth inquiry. After holding protest for about two hours they dispersed.
