Beopar Mandal  Nowshera led by Subash Kappor, local Bar Association president  Ashwani Kumar Sharma, Sanatan Dharam Sabha president Jagdish Sawhney  and local leaders of  various political parties were leading the protest demonstration. They all came on one platform. Earlier, they assembled at Bus Stand and then moved to the National Highway near TPC/ Bridge.  They all sat on protest dharna on the busy road at around 10.10 am.
They were raising loud slogans against Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti, CAPD Minister Ch Zulfkar and demanding that ADC’s post be given to Nowshera. Some local leaders also addressed the gathering. They said that Nowshera is largest sub-district in Rajouri and more over Sunderbani and  Taryath (Kalakote) are about 70 kms from Rajouri and Kotranka was hardly 32 kms.  The border areas of Nowshera like Jhangar, Lam, Ladoka, Sher Makri etc were also about 55-60 kms from Rajouri district headquarters.  There was no justification of  providing ADC’s post to Kandi (Kotranka). They alleged that local Minister Ch Zulfkar Ali has manipulated the decision  which in no way was  fair and justified. A large number of vehicles remained stranded on the highway for hours together due to blockade.
MLC Surinder Choudhary also  raised this issue in the Upper House today and claimed that people were on the road. He demanded that Nowshera should get justice.
Later, DC Rajouri Shahid Iqbal talked to the people on phone and said that  he is forwarding this proposal to the Government and it is likely to be taken up in next Cabinet meeting.  The people then lifted dharna at around 2.30 pm.
