Protest dharna of casual labourers enters 13th day

JAMMU, Oct 6: The protest dharna of Department of Agricultural Casual Labour Union (DACLU) at Krishi Bhawan, Talab Tillo against the delaying tactics of the State Government in framing a regularizing policy, entered 13th day, today.
Hundreds of casual labourers from SM Farm Chinore, Agri Workshop, Seed Processing Plant, Chakori Farm and other sections today participated in the protest dharna.
Addressing the protesting casual labourers, Rajan Sharma, Union president, expressed resentment over the delaying tactics adopted by the State Government in framing a regularizing policy for casual labourers.
Rajan said that complete record of 251 casual labourers is lying in the Administration Department for regularization but till date nothing has been done. The union president made it clear that until their demands are fulfilled their protest dharna will continue.
Maintaining that the casual labourers of the Agriculture Department have been continuously drawing the wages on Muster sheets through Government treasuries since 1994, Rajan said that their case is fit for regularization and the Government should not delay in this.
Rajinder Kumar, Pitamber Nath, Anil Gandotra, Ravi Kumar and many other leaders of the union participated in the protest dharna.
