JAMMU, Mar 12: A protest erupted this morning in Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Jammu against an illegal construction by Sanjyog Pharmaceuticals, a pharma company, right in front of the emergency of the hospital and police post GMCH.
According to the eye-witnesses, from early in the morning, some private players started some illegal construction in front of the police post GMCH and till about 10 am, the opening time of the hospital, they raised a shed like structure.

Accordingly, after the intervention of police and hospital administration, the raised structure was dismantled.

Elaborating more he said some time earlier, J&K Medical Supplies Corporation had invited bids fr of construction of 24×7 chemist shops in every hospital of the State and Sanjyog Pharmaceuticals had won bid for opening of a medical shop in the premises of GMCH Jammu.
“Accordingly, Principal, GMCH has constituted a committee to identify appropriate land for the chemist shop but no land was identified by the committee and therefore there was no question of giving any permission for opening the shop”, he said adding the structure raised today by Sanjyog Pharmaceuticals on the hospital land was illegal and as soon as the matter came into our notice, we took appropriate action and the structure was dismantled.
