Protest held against opening of liquor shop in Mendhar

POONCH, June 8: BJP leader and District Development Council (DDC) Member of Mendhar B Wajid Bashir Khan along with Panchs and Sarpanchs today held a protest demonstration and blocked Mendhar-BG Road against opening of a wine shop in Mendhar market.
The protesting people alleged that the Government is deliberately indulging the youth in drug addiction by opening wine shops in populated areas. They also alleged that the Government is violating rules and regulations by opening the wine shops in populated areas, near religious and educational places, which is not acceptable.
Tehsildar Mendhar Rahul Basotra and SDPO Sheezan Bhatt reached the spot and pacified the protesters by assuring that their demand will be conveyed to the higher authorities.
Meanwhile, youth leader Vikram Sharma held a press conference with his colleagues, in which he said that those who are opposing opening of wine shop, he want to tell them that black marketing of liquor and drugs in Mendhar should be stopped first. He said that if someone drinks alcohol, he drinks on his own will.
