JAMMU, Sept 11: National Democratic Party Indian (NDPI) held a protest demonstration under the leadership of party State president Rajesh Gupta at cremation ground, Jogi Gate, Jammu.
The protest started by Rajesh Gupta by lighting the funeral pyre of JMC. Speaking on the occasion, Gupta said that today every Jammuite is upset to see the pathetic condition of cremation ground of historic Jogi Gate, where last rites of late Maharaja Hari Singh and thousands of Jammu dignitaries’ were performed.
Gupta appealed the people of Jammu to create pressure on the JMC authorities to speed up the work of cremation ground by extending their cooperation for Jammu Bandh for one hour tomorrow morning (10 am to 11 am).
He said,” I am astonished to hear that because of the rate conflict between two JMC contractors one got the stay from court”. Gupta said this pious land is in worst condition and nobody bothers for its speedy renovation.
Rajan Kumar State general secretary of NDPI also spoke on the occasion. Others who attended the protest were Sandeep Anand, Kuljeet Singh, Shehnaz Bibi, Santosh Devi, Tilak Raj, Mir Chand, Gagan Sharma, Dharam Sharma, Satish Rajdan and Yashpal Sharma.
