Protest in Kalakot, people block road for 2 hours

RAJOURI, Nov 3: A large number of people including students held strong protest at Sailsui and blocked road for over two hours.
They were protesting against the police for its failure to arrest the accused involved in raising anti-India and pro-Pakistan slogans at the main gate of Govt Higher Secondary School,  Sailsui on last Thursday. The people of the area from one community including large number of students assembled on Solki-Kalakote road near the School in the morning around 10 am and started protest demonstration.
All the students of Higher Secondary also boycotted their classes and came out on the road and joined protest. They were demanding immediate arrest of all the youth involved in  raising anti-India slogans. They said that despite being booked by police in an FIR registered on Thursday, not even a single accused has been arrested.
With the protest dharna on the road, the movement of vehicles came to halt on this road. Later, SHO Kalkote Pramodh Singh and  Tehsildar Mohd Nawaz  reached the spot. The protesting people refused to lift dharna and allow movement of the traffic. SDM Kalakote Balkrishan also reached there after some time. He assured action in this regard to the protesting people. The people then lifted dharna and vehicular movement was ensured on this road. The passengers remained struck on the road for over two hours and many employees and students could not reach their destinations. The school functioning was resumed at around 12.15 noon.
