RAJOURI, Apr 26: The people of Darhal and Manjakote today held strong protest demonstration in support of their demand of setting up of Degree Colleges in their respective towns in district Rajouri.
A large number of people of Darhal today again came out on the road and took out strong protest march. The town observed bandh during the day as mark of protest. The people demanded that setting up of Degree College was long pending demand of the people of the area but concerned MLA from PDP, Zulfkar Choudhary was sabotaging the demand for political reasons. They warned to intensify struggle and said that Darhal on all the aspects deserve a degree college.
Meanwhile, the people of Manjakote also held strong protest and observed complete bandh today. They were also demanding setting up of Degree College and post of SDM at Manjakote.
The protesting people also blocked busy Jammu-Rajouri-Poonch highway for about two hours. Later, ADC Rajouri went there and assured the people to take up their issue with the higher authorities in the Government. The people then cleared road and suspended protest.
