KATHUA, July 4: The irate residents of Marheen a border area in Kathua district today staged a massive demonstration in protest against the power failure in the area.
The protestors alleged that the power supply has been totally affected in the village for last six days after the local transformer developed a snag. The protestors said that they met the concerned officers number of times but to no avail forcing them to take to streets today.
Later the protestors met Tehsildar Marheen who assured them that the transformer will be installed by tomorrow. On his assurance they disbursed but warned to come to streets again in case the transformer was not restored by tomorrow.
