JAMMU, Nov 19: The protest by the Union of Civic Safai Karamcharis (SKCs) of Jammu Municipal Corporation (JMC) here today entered day 2.
The SKCs were protesting against the alleged outsourcing of sanitation and cleanliness works in one of the three Municipal zones of Jammu city (Gandhi Nagar zone) to some private company.
The protest was led by Union president, Rinku Gill.
He said that outsourcing will affect the jobs of SKCs.
Gill further informed that if the outsourcing was allowed, then the company involved will engage its own people in cleanliness and sanitation of the city and the garbage collection vehicles will also be supplied by the company.
“This will badly hit the interests of our employees and those giving the services of garbage collection and we will never allow this,” Rinku Gill stated.
