RAJOURI, June 2: The PDP activists and the general public held protest demonstration against PDD authorities in the town here and also at Solki in Kalakote today.
Today, a large number of PDP activists led by Shahzad Khan and some locals held protest demonstration against PDD authorities for poor supply of power, long curtailments and bungling in RGGVY scheme. They alleged that many areas have been uncovered and they have been shown connected merely on the papers while ground realty is different. They demanded high level inquiry into the matter. After protesting for about an hour near Bus Stand here, they dispersed.
At Solki on Sunderbani-Kalakote-Rajouri road, the villagers blocked road for about two hours today and held strong protest demonstration against PDD. They alleged that power supply was grim and authorities were imposing long cuts. Despite agitations and repeated pleas, the power supply position has not improved. Later, SDM Nowshera Dipti Uppal and ASP Rakesh Kumar rushed to the spot and assured the agitating villagers to take up the issue with concerned officers. Later, they lifted dharna from the road and allowed movement of traffic.
