MENDHAR, July 3: The people from Sarula area of Balakote today held protest as they are facing acute shortage of water for the last over three weeks.
The villagers today held protest and raised slogans against the PHE authorities. They alleged that dedicated transformer meant for Sarula Water Supply Scheme in Balakote went out of order about three weeks ago and since then, this water supply has been suspended. The people of this belt are facing shortage of water due to it. The PHE staff passed on buck to the PHE Mech staff for the restoration but water supply could not be made functional till today. The people have warned to intensify their protest if the water supply is not restored within three days.
