Srinagar, Sept 23: A protester was killed in Sopore area of North Kashmir as curfew, restrictions and shutdown paralysed life in Kashmir for 77th day today.
Curfew remained in force in parts of Srinagar today with Police and Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) patrolling the streets and had blocked the main roads with concertina wire and had stationed mobile bunkers at various places in these areas to prevent violence.
The shops, business establishments, schools and colleges remained closed and traffic was off the roads. However, some private vehicles were plying in Civil lines area of Srinagar. The train services between Banihal and Baramulla remained suspended since July 9. The mobile internet and pre-paid mobile services remained suspended.
A 22-year-old youth died after security forces opened fire in North Kashmir’s Baramulla district today. The youth identified as Waseem Ahmad Lone, son of Nazir Ahmad Lone, resident of Nadihal, So-pore sustained bullet injuries after security forces fired at the protesters in the area. He was rushed to District Hos-pital Baramu-lla where he succumbed.
Lone’s kil-ling sparked fresh protests in the area. The protesters targeted security forces who in return fired tear smoke to disperse them.
In Bandipora, security forces fired teargas and pellets to foil a proposed protest rally in the area in which scores of people were injured. Security forces fired teargas and pellets to disperse protesters who were preparing to take out the rally from Jamia Masjid Bandipora to Gulshan Chowk.
In Ajas Bandipora, a protest rally was held at Eidgah after Friday prayers.  Clashes erupted between protesters and security forces during which security forces fired tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Clashes erupted between protesters and security forces in Saloosa Kreeri area of Baramulla district today. People of the area had decided to offer congregational prayers jointly Saloosa. However, security forces fired teargas during which several people were injured.
At least 12 protesters were injured during the clashes between protesters and security forces in Gulshan Abad Charar-e-Shareef town of Central Kashmir’s Budgam district. Three among the injured sustained pellet injuries in eyes and were shifted to Srinagar’s hospital for specialized treatment.
At least 3 protesters were injured during the clashes between protesters and security forces in Bagh-e-Noordin area of Charar-e-Shareef in teargas shelling.
Clashes also erupted between protesters and security forces in Chadoora area of Budgam district during which security forces fired tear gas to disperse the youth who were pelting stones at them.
In uptown areas of Srinagar, security forces fired teargas to foil protests at Old Barzulla, Natipora and Rambagh areas triggering clashes in the area. Security forces fired scores of teargas shells to disperse the protesters who were preparing to take out the rally after Friday congregational prayers ended in the areas.
Clashes erupted between protesters and security forces in Batamaloo area of Srinagar during which security forces fired teargas to disperse the protesters.
In Old City Srinagar, clashes took place between protesters and security forces in Eidgah, Habba Kadal and Noorbagh area during which security forces fired tear gas to disperse the protesters.
Protests were held in Pampore and adjacent areas of the town in South Kashmir’s Pulwama district against the arrest of three youth. Three youths were picked up during the overnight raid by the security forces.
Twenty protesters were injured in clashes between protesters and security forces in Kokernag area of South Kashmir’s Anantnag district.
