MENDHAR, July 30: The people held protest demonstrations against local ITI authorities and R&B officials at two separate places here today.
While one protest was held against the ITI authorities, against their decision to increasing fee without any justified reason and pasting a selection list of the students without carrying signature of the Superintendent; the other protest was held on Mendhar- Salwah road against the R&B authorities. The people alleged that ITI authorities at Mendhar have hiked fee at their own while it was less in others ITIs. They demanded inquiry into the matter. They also demanded appointment of Superintendent at ITI Mendhar as since 2013, additional charge has been given to Superintendent ITI Surankote. It was also alleged that two courses were also suddenly dropped by the present Superintendent and for this there is strong resentment among the local people.
Another protest was held on Mendhar- Salwah road where people raised slogans against R&B authorities for not restoring connectivity to the area. They alleged that the vital bridge connecting half a dozen villages washed away recently and no temporary restoration work was ensured. They blocked this road for three hours and raised loud slogans against AEE R&B Mendhar and Executive Engineer R&B Poonch.
