Protests against release of Masrat Alam continue

JAMMU, Mar 9: The protests and torching of effigies against the release of mastermind of 2010 unrest in Kashmir, Masrat Alam continued in the length and breadth of Jammu region today.
Hindustan Shiv Sena (HSS) held a protest demonstration against the State Government for releasing separatist leader Masrat Alam here today. The demonstration was led by National president of the Sena Dimpy Kohli. The State president of the Sena Vikrant Kapoor and its general secretary G I Singh and Rajan Gupta also participated in protest. They while registering their protest said Masrat is not a separatist but a terrorist and be re-arrested again.
A protest demonstration was held by youth Congress in Jammu West against the release of Masrat Alam. The protestors torched the effigy of Prime Minister. The protest was led by Ricky Dalgotra, general secretary of Party for Jammu West.
A massive protest was held by Bar Association Kathua today against the release of Masrat Alam. The protestors demanded his immediate re-arrest.
The Members of Bar also torched the effigies of Chief Minister Mufti Mohammed Sayeed and Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh and said that release of separatists is a threat to national security.
The protests were also held at Hira Nagar, Chan Rorian and Dialachak.
The protest demonstration was also held by Congress activists led by Babal Gupta at Vijapur against the release of separatist leader by the State Government.
The protest demonstration was held at Ramgarh by Congress led by Paramjit Singh Pama.
Another protest was held at Samba by Congress led by Vinod Kumar. National Panthers Party also held demonstration at Samba Chowk under the leadership of ex MLA Yash Paul Kundal and Rajesh Padgotra, provincial president of the Party.
Dogra Front and Shiv Sena led by its president Ashok Gupta held a protest demonstration against the release of Hurriyat hardliner Masrat Alam at Jammu. The protestors asked BJP to withdraw support to the Government and put an end to era of uncertainty in the State.
Kranti Dal while reacting to the release of Masrat Alam said the decision of Mufti Sayeed led coalition was anti-national and unacceptable. The activists of the organization led by Anan Sharma also held a strong protest against the decision.
ABVP also protested against the release of Masrat Alam in Jammu University today and torched the effigy of Chief Minister. The protest was led by ABVP Jammu University president Sandeep Sharma.
Another protest was held by the NSF at Jammu University under the chairmanship of its district president Reshikesh Rana.
Jammu West Assembly Movement led by Sunil Dimple also held a protest demonstration against the release of Masrat Alam and torched the effigies of PDP-BJP.
Congress secretary, Hira Lal Pandita and senior leader Shamsher Singh Bhandari have also condemned the release of Masrat Alam and said that this has exposed the BJP which was till yesterday accusing Congress of present mess in the State. They wanted to know what happened to BJP claims of taking a tough line of action against the terrorism.
BJP Muslim Morcha leader, Mushtaq Noorabadi while opposing the release of Masrat Alam said the BJP will not allow any one to further his agenda. He said Masrat Alam is a terrorist and be dealt accordingly under law of land. The BJP should not compromise on this issue for the sake of Government as the national unity and integrity is of paramount importance for the Party.
